Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.46 Now Available, Three New Cars, New Extras Menu and New Engine Swaps – GTPlanet

Gran Turismo 7’s update 1.46 is available now, bringing two completely new brands to the series as we revealed earlier in the week.

Aside from the fact that two of the vehicles represent manufacturers not yet in a GT game, this is a typical three-car update and comes in at 1.09GB on PlayStation 5 and 1.11GB on PlayStation 4. As expected, there is no new round to enjoy this month.

However, there's a lot more to know now that the update is available, including what's new in the patch notes.

Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.46: New Cars

A small slip-up courtesy of the fact that we already knew the identities of the three cars coming in this update, but now that the update is available, we can tell you what their prices and availability are:

  • Afila Prototype '24 – Brand Central – 0 Cr
  • Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 '70 – Legends Cars – 163,000cr
  • Skoda Vision Gran Turismo – Brand Central – 1,000,000 Crore

The main surprise here is that the Affila prototype – a car developed by Sony in collaboration with its partner Honda – is a freebie. You don't have to spend anything on a car, although it's important to note that it won't give you the cheapest option. Liked by the company Buying the same car ten times does not qualify as a PSN Trophy “buy”.

There are no specifications for this debut vehicle, which previews a full production model planned for 2025, although we do know that the real thing is a twin pair of motors – one on each axle – rated at 180kW (241hp) each. A combined 482hp.

As revealed yesterday, Skoda's Vision Gran Turismo is the headline act for this update, as well as the most expensive vehicle at the usual 1m credit price for all VGT cars. This single-seat sports car has four individual motors at 200kW (268hp) each, adding up to 1,072hp.

Heavy use of carbon in the chassis and removable body keeps the weight down to 1,300kg, so it should be a blast – yesterday's event had some trouble keeping it up to speed on the island for those racing it. You'll also have a chance to try it out for yourself in a new online time trial event starting today.

Finally there is some classic and dinosaur juice burning action from the 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS454. As you'd expect, this 7.4-litre V8 beast lands in Legends Cars, which is temporarily available as a “hot pick” at 163,000cr. You'll be able to buy it for the next few days before going into regular circulation.

A new supplemental menu book has been added this month, focusing on one of the most iconic brands, Ferrari. It's actually surprising that Ferrari didn't have an extras menu before.

Book 38: Ferrari 12-Cylinder Engines Although it sounds very simple, there is a small twist. GT7Less popular means. You need to collect 1971 Ferrari 365 GTB4 from Legends Cars, 1991 Ferrari Testarossa from Used Cars and 2013 Ferrari La Ferrari from Brand Central.

That means waiting for a couple of classics to pop up in the used car cycle (the Testarossa is now available as a special option), but you'll need a brand invite to score a LaFerrari as it's one of only three cars in Ferrari's range. You can't afford it.

Invitations are rarely issued and can be any of the ten required brands, so this can be a daunting task that can only be solved by blind luck. If we were PD, we'd make the F12berlinetta the third car and award the LaFerrari (like the D-Type in last month's Jaguar book) to avoid disappointment.

There's no new bonus menu book in GT Cafe, but the game does get three new races for events in the World Circuits category. Each applies to one of the three cars included in this update.

56,000-crore Chevelle as the cover star for the three-lap race at Trial Mountain in the American FR Challenge 550. Alsace Village hosts Afela and friends in the Japanese Clubman Cup 550 in a three-round race with a top prize of 60,000 crores. Finally, the 80,000-crore Vision Gran Turismo Trophy topped Skoda's race with a five-lap run on the Grand Valley Highway-1.

  • Alsace Village Rivers (3 rounds) – Japanese Clubman Cup 550 – 60,000 cr
  • Grand Valley Expressway-1 (5 laps) – Vision GT Trophy – 80,000 crores
  • Trial Hill (3 laps) – American FR Challenge 550 – 56,000cr

Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.46 – New Engine Changes

This month's engine swaps, along with others we've seen recently, stick to a theme. Unusually there are no new engines this time around, but all five new swaps are new uses for existing Chevrolet engines – not necessarily all from vehicles under the Chevrolet brand.

Two Gr.4 vehicles get a new Chevrolet lump option, the Bugatti Veyron Gr.4 gets the LS7-BRZ from the Subaru BRZ drift car and the Honda NSX Gr.4 is now available with the same LS7 from the Rampage Camaro.

Two classic Corvettes have modern LT5 power, the C1 and C2 Sting Ray coupe are both available as replacements for the C7 ZR1's unit. Finally the Lexus LC500 is another option for the LS7-BRZ.

You need to be collector level 50 to buy engines directly from GT Auto, where they are very steeply priced, although you can get them as gifts at any level – including six-star (engine) tickets. .

Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.46 – Scapes and other changes

San Diego, Calif. stars Ron Burgundy's new scapes with 19 new locations in and around his favorite city (we'll spare you the translation). These are mainly centered on the beach and city streets and parking lots.

The rest of the patch notes are sparse, but include one tidbit of information that should pique the interest of owners of the new flagship steering wheel. The Fanatec Gran Turismo DD Extreme wheel is now supported with a button configuration in the Fanatec GT DD Pro/Extreme section of the Options menu.

One item that isn't part of the patch notes is a wide-ranging update to performance balance in both Gr.3 and Gr.4. This comes ahead of the GT World Series Manufacturers Cup which starts in less than two weeks, so I hope you haven't picked a preferred brand yet!

Naturally there is the usual description of “various issues resolved”, without further details. Our community will explore these in due course in a dedicated undocumented changes thread, but once again the teased Suzuka Circuit environment update is not one of them.
