Aurzen Unveils ZIP Pro, a Tri-Fold Full HD Pocket Projector Built for Mobile Viewing

Aurzen has unveiled the ZIP Pro, a compact Full HD projector designed to bring large-screen entertainment to locations where a television or conventional projector may not be practical. Combining a tri-fold structure, native 1080p resolution and battery-powered operation, the device is aimed at travellers and consumers looking for a more portable viewing option.

ZIP Pro Uses a Compact Tri-Fold Design

The ZIP Pro features a Z-shaped tri-fold structure that allows the projector to collapse into a compact form for transportation. When unfolded, the structure doubles as an integrated multi-angle stand, eliminating the need for a separate mounting accessory in many situations.

Aurzen says the projector features a 10.7-mm ultra-slim optical engine. The entire device has a volume of 487 cc and weighs 586 grams, or roughly 1.3 pounds.

Setup is assisted by Time-of-Flight autofocus and four-point keystone correction. Together, the technologies are designed to reduce the amount of manual adjustment required when moving the projector between locations.

Native 1080p Resolution and 200 ANSI Lumens

The ZIP Pro delivers native 1080p Full HD resolution and brightness rated at 200 ANSI lumens. Its specifications make it primarily suited to dark rooms and evening viewing, where lower levels of ambient light can improve picture visibility.

Aurzen describes the engineering philosophy behind the projector through a formula engraved directly on the device:

Vmin ≈ Φmax / (η • κ)

According to the company, the formula represents the balance between projector size, brightness, optical efficiency and thermal efficiency. Instead of increasing brightness by expanding the chassis, adding weight or requiring a larger cooling system, Aurzen says it focused on maintaining a compact form factor.

The projector is designed to produce viewing sizes ranging from approximately 60 to 80 inches in dark environments.

Wireless Casting and USB-C Connectivity

The ZIP Pro supports several wireless casting standards, including AirPlay, Miracast, DLNA and Google Cast. These options allow compatible smartphones, tablets and computers to send content to the projector.

AirLink P2P provides screen mirroring without requiring a Wi-Fi connection. That could be useful during travel or in locations where a reliable wireless network is unavailable.

A USB-C port supporting DisplayPort Alt Mode also enables direct wired projection from compatible smartphones and laptops.

Nintendo Switch Support Targets Portable Gaming

Aurzen has included direct USB-C projection support for Nintendo Switch, allowing compatible gaming setups to connect to the projector without a more complicated arrangement.

A dedicated Game Mode is also included to provide faster response during gameplay. The feature reinforces the ZIP Pro’s focus on portable entertainment rather than permanent home-theatre installations.

Audio and Vertical Video Features

The projector includes two 2-watt stereo speakers and operates at noise levels as low as 24 decibels, according to Aurzen.

It also supports dual Bluetooth headphone output, allowing two people to connect separate headphones simultaneously. This feature could be useful for shared viewing in hotel rooms, bedrooms or other spaces where speaker audio may not be appropriate.

For smartphone-oriented media, Vertical Full-Screen Mode is designed to display portrait-format videos across the projected area without the black bars typically created when vertical content is shown on a landscape display.

The ZIP Pro also incorporates a Smart Touch Display that provides access to battery information, connection status and device controls.

Built-In Battery Provides Up to 2.5 Hours of Viewing

For portable operation, the ZIP Pro includes a built-in 38Wh battery rated for up to 2.5 hours of viewing.

The projector supports 65W Power Delivery charging through USB-C, allowing users with compatible chargers to replenish the battery between sessions. This could make the device particularly useful for travel, temporary setups and outdoor evening entertainment.

Aurzen Targets the Portable Entertainment Market

The Aurzen ZIP Pro carries a list price of $629.99 and an introductory price of $579.99. Canadian consumers should confirm local pricing, currency, taxes and availability, as final costs may vary by market.

With its folding stand, native Full HD resolution, wireless casting, USB-C connectivity and integrated battery, the ZIP Pro represents Aurzen’s attempt to make large-screen projection more practical for mobile users. While its 200-ANSI-lumen brightness means darker environments will provide the best viewing conditions, its compact dimensions and flexible connectivity distinguish it from larger home-theatre projectors.
