The voice of the Filipino Community in Canada, a community proud of its heritage and aware of its strength as an important pillar of Canadian society. |
Ang
Peryodiko Publishing first produced the Canada edition of the
Los Angeles-based Ang Peryodiko in May 2003. While maintaining
the same editorial policies, style and look of its U.S. counterpart,
Ang Peryodiko (Winnipeg) strives to create its own identity, and
generate its distinct readership among the Filipino community
in Manitoba, Saskatoon, Vancouver and Toronto. |
Ang
Peryodiko Canada satisfies the need of Filipinos living in Canada
to be informed and educated about issues and events affecting
not only their homeland, but also their local their local community
in their adopted country. It is a newspaper that meets their need
to be entertained and overcome the feeling of loneliness that
may set in, living in a foreign land. |
Ang
Peryodiko Canada commits itself to support the endeavors of Filipinos
living in Canada, and enhance unity among the many diverse Filipino
associations and groups comprising the community. It is a newspaper
the Filipino-Canadians can claim with pride as their own. |
Finally,
Ang Peryodiko seeks to elevate the standard of Filipino community
journalism and recognizes its role as a catalyst for positive
change and growth. |
