Snow on Sunday – NBC Boston

Boston Snow The drought left most New Englanders confused. That too could end on Sunday.

A Powerful storm to hit Southern California And the western United States will trek 2,800 miles across the country in the coming days, eventually making landfall in New England and bringing cold weather.

At first glance, Sunday's snow brings more snow across central Massachusetts and Route 2. Leominster, Rutland and Gardner will see five to eight inches of steady to heavy snow.

As coastal temperatures remain above freezing, snow will reduce to rain across eastern Massachusetts and along the coast.

Mass falls from one inch to three inches from Pike, toward one inch along the south coast. Island regions and areas across the Cape are also on the lower end of the scale, with up to an inch of snow. Foxborough, Sturbridge and I-495 will get three to five inches of snow.

When was Boston's last big snowfall?

It's been nearly two years — 677 days — since Boston saw three inches of snow in one day.

On February 25, 2022, the city received 8.5 inches of snow. Last year was a different story, as 2023 ended up being the city's fourth-lowest snowfall year.
