CCX Technologies Launches SystemX Tactical Console for Front-Line Operations

Canadian defence technology company CCX Technologies has introduced its new SystemX Tactical Console, a rugged hybrid device designed to deliver real-time operational awareness to military personnel working in demanding field environments.

The portable system combines the functionality of a laptop and tablet, giving operators access to critical command-and-control information while deployed in remote or mobile operations. The company says the platform is intended to support secure decision-making at the network edge without relying on external communications links, an increasingly important capability for modern defence operations.

Real-Time Situational Awareness for Canadian Defence Operations

According to CCX Technologies, the Tactical Console provides a secure interface into Platform and Operational Technology (PT & OT) networks, enabling personnel to monitor overall system health and operational data in real time.

The system is designed to function without transmitting sensitive information over outside networks. That feature is expected to help military units maintain a lower electronic profile during covert or contested missions, where minimizing detectability has become a growing priority for armed forces and allied NATO partners.

“As communication modernization programs progress across Canada in the coming years, the ability to provide deployable, real-time situational awareness will be an essential requirement,” said Chris Bartlett, President and Co-Founder of CCX Technologies.

Bartlett added that the company’s Canadian ownership positions it to provide both advanced operational capabilities and stronger data sovereignty protections — an issue that continues to receive attention across Canada’s defence and critical infrastructure sectors.

SystemX Operating System Powers Cybersecurity and Network Management

At the core of the Tactical Console is the proprietary SystemX Operating System, an open-architecture software platform developed to support secure networking and operational management in tactical environments.

The platform includes tools for:

Network and Configuration Management

Operators can manage data transfer, applications, and system configurations directly from the field, helping maintain operational continuity during deployments.

Advanced Cybersecurity Monitoring

The Tactical Console also incorporates cybersecurity monitoring capabilities, including intrusion detection systems that analyse databus traffic, system logs, and network activity for abnormal behaviour in real time.

CCX says the system supports multiple military and aviation communication standards, including CANBus, ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, and ASTERIX. These protocols are commonly used in aerospace, defence, and mission-critical transportation systems.

The monitoring capability is designed to support both routine maintenance and cyber mission assurance, areas that have become increasingly important as defence platforms grow more digitally connected.

Rugged Design Built for Field Deployment

The Tactical Console features a modular design that allows it to operate as either a handheld or mountable tablet, or as a traditional laptop connected to a keyboard and docking station.

The hardware is also compatible with mounting systems designed for the Panasonic CF-33 Toughbook platform, a widely used rugged computing system in military and emergency-response environments.

Its flexible design is expected to appeal to organizations requiring mobile computing capabilities across land vehicles, aircraft, and command posts.

Product Debut Planned for CANSEC 2026

CCX Technologies will officially unveil the Tactical Console at CANSEC 2026, one of Canada’s largest defence and security industry exhibitions.

The company plans to showcase the new system through live demonstrations at Booth #2229, where attendees will be able to engage directly with CCX representatives and review the platform’s operational capabilities.

As Canada continues to modernize defence communications and strengthen cybersecurity resilience, products such as the SystemX Tactical Console highlight the growing role of domestic technology firms in supporting national security and military readiness.
